Workers Compensation

Posted by: admin  /  Tags: , , , , , , , , ,

Workers Compensation laws are specifically designed to protect workers and their dependents against the hardships from injury or death arising out of the work environment. Workers compensation insurance pays the employee money for lost wages and for medical benefits in exchange for the employee forteiting the right to sue the employer.

Minnesota law requires all employers to carry workers compensation insurance. Employers can self-insure based on their financial ability to do so, but this must be approved by the Minnesota Department of Commerce.
